Story

If anyone has ever had the pleasure of visiting Istanbul or knows anything about the city, then you will know that street cats are a part of every day life here, they're part of the scenery just as much as any of the iconic tourist sites are. Unfortunately for some of these animals they don't adapt well to street life or in some cases a once beloved pet gets abandoned and left at a shelter, and that is where Yedikule shelter comes in. This shelter is run by a team of 25 people who all work tirelessly in trying their best to help the cats that find their way to their shelter. The shelter has approximately 3300 animals in and at the moment is going through a change that will help improve the lives of the cats that call the shelter home. The aim of the project is to remove all bacteria and to have easily cleanable surfaces. At the moment there are sick cats in desperate need of medical care and due to the amount of animals in the shelter they infect the healthy cats. A healthy cat may find its way to the shelter and end up becoming sick. The aim of this page is to fundraise enough money to get the sick cats treated and quarantined throughout the project, but all of this costs money that the shelter just does not have. If you were to ask your family members or friends if they were willing to sacrifice a christmas present this year to help save lives, I'm sure they would be willing. Or even if you were willing to sacrifice that morning coffee to give a feline friend a fighting chance I'm sure you would. This world needs more compassion and what better way to the spread the compassion than to help save a life.
