Building Inclusive Classrooms – One Brick at a Time

An Appeal by ITCIG-SENTTI, Cameroon to support Training a new generation of Inclusive-Special Educators for a more equitable future for all.

Why This Project Matters

In Cameroon today, too many children with disabilities or special educational needs are left behind — excluded from quality education, social integration, and the future they deserve.

At ITCIG-SENTTI (Special Educational Needs Teachers’ Training Institute), we are on a mission to change that. As a social enterprise institution based in the Northwest Region of Cameroon, we are proud to have been spearheading the Cameroon Inclusive Special Education Teacher Training Empowerment Programme (CISETTEP) - since the 2006-2007 Academic Year — an innovative and community-based initiative that is actively building a new generation of highly skilled, inclusive-special educators.

These educators are not only trained to teach, rather they are also empowered to transform lives by working for and with children with and without exceptional needs. Through their efforts, we are dismantling barriers and opening doors to equitable, accessible learning opportunities for all.

The Urgent Need

To sustain and expand this critical work, we urgently need to build six (6) additional inclusive classrooms and four (4) accessible toilets, alongside a multi-media resource room at our training site. Currently, ITCIG-SENTTI operates from a temporary rented location, and although we’ve already begun construction on five classrooms and four toilets, we are now seeking help to complete the next phase.

To do this, we need 20,000 bricks.

Each brick costs just £1.00.

With your help, we can reach our goal of £21,000:

• £20,000 will directly fund the production of 20,000 bricks.

• £1,000 will cover the 5% Crowdfunder platform fee.

What Your Pound Will Build

Your £1 donation – the cost of a single brick – is a direct investment in inclusive education and brighter futures. Here's what you make possible:

 Construction of 6 new accessible classrooms and 4 inclusive toilets

 A purpose-built multi-media resource room for modern, inclusive teacher training

 A safe, conducive learning environment for student teachers and their mentors

 Local training of Inclusive-Special Educators equipped with real-world skills

 Expanded access to education for children living with disabilities in Cameroon

 Increased enrolment of learners with exceptional needs in mainstream nurseries and primary schools

 Sustainable, community-driven impact driven by local teachers trained to meet diverse needs.

Who You’re Supporting

 Inclusive-Special Education Student Teachers who are learning to teach with empathy, skill, and innovation

 Children with disabilities who deserve to learn in environments where their needs are understood and met

 Families and communities seeking dignity, inclusion, and opportunity for their children

 The nation of Cameroon, moving toward a more just and equitable education system.
