Story
No Family Should Face Childhood Cancer Alone
Every year in the UK, nearly 2,000 children begin a battle no child should ever face. Up to 3 years in treatment, isolated from school, friends, and the life they knew. Their parents stand by them with love and courage — but inside, they are overwhelmed, frightened, and often painfully alone.
But there are families who truly understand.
Families who have walked this path…and made it through.
A Proven Model of Hope
Our Parent Mentoring Program is inspired by the successful model created at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and has already been implemented with great success in Türkiye by Laughter Heals Association (the sister charity of It's a New DAY Community Interest Company.) Now, we are bringing this life-changing support to families in the UK as It's a New Day CIC ( 100% non -profit)
Trained mentor parents — whose children have completed treatment — are matched with newly diagnosed families. For one full year, they offer empathy, guidance, and the comfort of someone who genuinely understands the journey.
Professional Support, Every Step of the Way
The entire program operates under psychologist supervision.
Every 15 days, a psychologist meets with both the mentor and the mentee family to ensure emotional safety, healthy boundaries, and compassionate, effective support.
This is not just mentorship —
it is a circle of care built on lived experience and expert guidance.
How You Can Help
Providing one family with a full year of mentor support costs £1,000.
Our goal is to reach 20 families, giving them the strength, hope, and companionship they desperately need.
Together, we can make sure no parent faces childhood cancer alone.
Please support this project and help us bring hope to families when they need it most.
