Ivan Rendall, a devoted family man, friend to many and massive Celtic fan, was taken far too soon in August 2019, aged 45. He sadly left behind his wife - Yvonne and his two boys - Archie and Ollie (not forgetting Brodie his four legged fluffy boy too.)

His boys sharing his passion for football and Celtic in particular (Despite all attempts to convert them to Rangers in their younger years...) and at age 12 and 10 already showing great talent earning them trips to train and play with Ross County for their age groups as well as the Orkney teams. Everyone’s proud of them and I’m sure no-one is more so than their Dad.

It's just passed three years (25/08/19) since he sadly left us and he’s a massive miss to all that knew and loved him.

To do something in his memory, starting on the 1st September, I’m planning to run 5.6 km each day for 9 days in a row (Rangers wouldn’t allow for 10 in a row obviously…) and to do it wearing a Celtic strip. (a small payback for the earlier years spent trying to convert the boys, unsuccessfully, to the right team…)

I haven’t ran anywhere in years and also don’t enjoy it at all so it seems fitting to not enjoy something while in a Celtic strip.

If anyone would like to donate money in his memory that would be much appreciated. All money thats donated will go to Orkney Heart Screening provided by CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) with a small donation being made to the boy's clubs - East United Football Club and Orkney Youth Development Group.

Although Ivan wasn't in the age bracket for screening (under 35's) there's a good chance his undiagnosed heart condition would have been picked up had he had the chance of a test when he was younger. The more tests they are able to do the more previously undiagnosed conditions they can pick up on so they can treat patients before its too late.
