Ivy Dene Alpaca Farm desperately needs your help to raise funds for a much-needed large mobile field shelter or two smaller ones.

I have shared my home with Alpacas for about 13 years now and I still feel humbled in their presence. They are endearing and sensitive animals with amazing therapeutic qualities enabling them to bring peace and tranquillity to everyone who meets them. My Alpacas and Llamas do incredible work in the community and local areas. We visit hospices, care homes, schools and hospitals allowing people to have a personal encounter whilst also educating people to understand these beautiful animals and see how their calm, friendly and curious character shines through and brings forth joy and happiness to everyone who meets them.

I started taking in rescues about 6 years ago and helped them through the awful traumas and neglect that life had very sadly thrown at them. Extremely underweight, broken bones, petrified of people are just a few of the issues I have had to help them overcome. With patience, love, gentle interaction and (expensive) veterinary care I have always managed to gain their confidence and healed their minds and bodies so they are able to enjoy their freedom with their new companions in a happy contented environment knowing they shall never be abused ever again.

So why do I need your help??My field tends to flood which involves me having to find emergency shelter at any time day of night when bad weather situations arise. I would love to be able to provide the animals with better shelter hopefully situated on a drier stretch of land. This would enable them to find shelter quickly and easily from both harsh weather conditions and also from extremely hot temperatures providing them with much needed shade. I am afraid I have made my Alpaca, Llamas and three black nosed Valais sheep extremely soft and as soon as it rains they much prefer to be under cover so this shelter would be much appreciated by all my animals.

It would be amazing if we could raise £4000 to purchase a large shelter or 2 smaller ones. I hope by doing this page we will be able to raise this money as we are not a business or registered charity and only rely on donations made from our walking experiences. But with your support we can go that extra mile to provide all these amazing animals the comfort and shelter they richly deserve.
