Story

Paws In Our Hearts Bosnian Dog Rescue needs the kindness of the public to help save the dogs and puppies in Bosnia and help transport them to the UK for a better, happy and safer life they deserve.

For the last few years myself and my family have been waiting for the right time to welcome a pet to the family. Both dog lovers, we knew we wanted a dog. We came across Jayne Mahmoud facebook plea on Information Oban to find families who would adopt one of their Bosnian Rescue dogs. This is where we found Izzy (previously known as Loly). We got in touch with Jayne and after completing a home check, my husband Jamie went to view the dogs and pups that had recently been transported over. This is when he met Izzy and he knew straight away this was the dog he wanted our family to take home. We then as a family went and met Izzy the following day and we felt the same too. That same day we took her home and she has completed our family. Izzy is 3 years old, and although she has only been with us for 4 weeks, we love her so much. She is wonderful with our children, and she loves kisses and cuddles, she is a big sook! When i read on the Paws In Our Hearts Bosnian Dog rescue group page, it breaks my heart to see she was one of these dogs who was going to be euthanized. Which is why i want to help.

Samira Gagula who lives in Bosnia rescues and keeps these dogs safe until they are able to be transported to the UK. If Samira was not able to do this, these dogs would be left in the kill shelters and euthanized. Without Samira and her family, these dogs would not be alive today. However in terms of monthly running costs, just to name a few examples their food is 9ooe, 270e for waste sanitisation, 150e for insurance, 1 vaccination is 10e and a vet call out 20e. This is only some of the financial costs of keeping these dogs safe and well. Also without Jayne, these dogs would not be able to come to Oban, where they are safe, and well cared for until they find their forever homes. Now having a rescue dog of our own , i really want to help as i understand the importance of the donations.

To help, i am going to be raffling off for one lucky person to win a birthday celebration cake which could be yours for only £2!!!. One tier cake, flavour & design of the winners choice.

A few important points to bare in mind is that the winner must be able to collect the cake from Oban i have the availability (which will be from September 1st onwards) and the date is suitable for both. I am unable to provide alcohol on the cake as i do not have a license, and this would need to be supplied. I also bake in a kitchen where nuts and other allergens are stored.

I would love to help raise atleast £300 (equivalent to an adoption fee), and if we can raise this or even more this would be amazing! But all donations no matter how big or small mean the world to Paws In our Hearts. So to be in a chance, all you have to do is make atleast a £2 donation. £2 = 1 entry. If you pay £4 = 2 entrys and so on. Please also leave your name so i know it is you! I plan to draw our winner August 8th giving us 8 weeks to raise as much as we can!

ALL donations will then be donated and given to Paws In our Hearts.

Thankyou for taking the time to read, and good luck to those who take part <3
