We have set up this page to help raise funds to seek private medical treatment for a truly inspirational and brave young man, Ian Elgin, who is loved very much by his wife, Jillian, daughter Abbie (10) and son Max (7).

Ian was diagnosed with a Grade IV Glioblastoma in November 2015.  This is a terminal illness which has unfortunately exhausted all medicines within the NHS and we are now exploring every option, to find a drug that will work for Ian in reducing the tumour or better still getting rid of it altogether! 

Ian was operated on to debulk the tumour in November 2015 and has since undergone radiotherapy and 2 different types of chemotherapy.  Unfortunately due to his platelet count being too low the NHS have stopped all treatment hence the need to seek private care elsewhere to ensure Ian has the best possible chance to fight this awful illness.

If fighting a brain tumour itself isn’t bad enough Ian has now lost his sight due to where the tumour is situated within his brain meaning that getting about and leading a normal life is exceptionally difficult for him and means that he relies heavily on the help of his wife, kids, brother, parents/in laws as well as the overwhelming support he receives from his very close friends – all of whom have been a great strength to Ian.

To get the best possible treatment for him comes at a cost which is why we are reaching out to anyone who can afford to donate something to help the family fund the cost.

Ian is a strong guy with great positivity and an attitude.  His determination to fight this disease is admirable and to be able to have a normal life with this wife and kids again is all he wants.
