Story
Archie Southern, as everyone knows, went into Manchester Children’s Hospital at the beginning of November for a bone marrow transplant and has heartbreakingly had to spend Christmas on the ward instead of at home with his loved ones.
Throughout it all, Archie has shown incredible bravery. He has had many ups and downs during his treatment, but on his good days he is still his funny, cheeky self, bringing smiles to nurse staff, doctors and everyone around him.
Archie lives with his grandparents, having tragically lost his mum, Lindsey Kinnear, in 2021, and they along with other close family members have taken considerable time off work to be by his side and support one another. His Nan has not left his side, while family travel back and forth constantly to make sure he is never alone.
Although the initial transplant has been positive so far, Archie has sadly picked up a virus due to the suppression of his new immune system and now needs to undergo a further bone marrow transfusion from the same donor to help him recover and finally get home where he belongs.
Any support, no matter how small, will help ease the pressure on his grandparents and allow them to focus fully on what matters most helping brave Archie get better and back home.
