Story

The Foundation of Goodness is an organization established in 1999 that aims to bridge the gap between rural and urban populations in Seenigama in the South of Sri Lanka but also work extensively with villages in the post-war North and East of Sri Lanka. It also has worked extensively following the 2004 tsunami that devastated the lives of thousands of Sri Lankans to develop a one of a kind holistic rural community development model which today delivers a wide range of programmes to over 30,000beneficiaries from 100+ villagers

The Foundation of Goodness has also branched out to offer its key courses and resources to distant rural villages via Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centres.  These centres strive to empower disadvantaged communities so that they may have equal opportunities to excel in life. As the nerve centre of the village, the Village Heartbeat concept works to give underprivileged villagers access to skills that will enable them to develop to their full potential and offers courses in areas such as IT, children’s education, women’s empowerment, vocational training, life values and life skills development.

Every year I make a visit to Sri Lanka to see family and friends but this year I look forward to dedicating some time to stay at the Seenigama village in support of the underprivileged communities through the Foundation of Goodness where I plan to treat those suffering with dental problems and educate on oral hygiene .I also look forward to volunteering in the orphanages and schools

With the amazing help from my work colleagues at Rainworth Dental Care and Carlton Dental Care we have managed to collect an impressive number of dental items, which were shipped over recently to be gifted for the distribution amongst the rural disadvantaged people through the Foundation

But being one for a challenge…10 days before I go I thought why stop there… So, on behalf of the Foundation of Goodness, and at this time of year as we celebrate with our loved ones, I would welcome any donation large or small that will have a significant impact on the lives of the villagers less fortunate than us in Sri Lanka.

Any contribution made to the Foundation will go towards the general fund and be used for projects such as education, scholarships, upgrading of school facilities, infrastructure, teaching/ training, sports and medical care. Together we can increase the long-term opportunities for these rural communities so that they have the tools to create a prosperous future for themselves.

Any Donations to this worthy cause is much appreciated

The Foundation of Goodness is not a U.K. registered charity so donations made will not be eligible for U.K. Gift Aid.

Thank you for your generosity ...Jayani x
