Story
My name is Jack, I am 15 years old and I am studying for my GCSE’s including by invitation only Triple Science, after being selected for this as a result of successfully passing my Humanities GCSE 2 years early. I enjoy sport, having represented my school at County level for athletics and play for the local U15 rugby team. Our school has been approached by Camps International, who are global leaders in ethical and sustainable school expeditions, and I have been offered the opportunity of joining the Summer 2019 expedition to Peru.
The expedition will help to challenge my view of the world by understanding the day to day challenges rural communities face. I will work on projects which will transform communities and help them overcome some of the significant issues they face such as access to clean water, education and housing. The project will be focusing on combatting high malnutrition levels, building greenhouses, allotments and educating on nutrition as well as planting trees, by the thousands, all this will be working with the local communities. The aim is to educate them on sustainability to help them not only today but, for the future.
The expedition is self-funded and I have to raise £4,290 over 13 months, to accompany 4 of my Thatcham Rugby Club team mates to go on this once in a lifetime adventure. So far, I have worked a Christmas job, used my savings and together with my rugby pals, we have held a table top sale, packed bags at Tesco’s and held a bingo night, I have raised so far £1520, and have more events planned throughout the year. The next one is cycling 66 miles in the Wiggle super series Magnificat Sportive event in June, It would be incredible if you can donate to support my fundraising
Thanks in advance for your support

Jack
