Story

Jack, a local key worker's son at Under 1 Roof Nursery is celebrating his 13th birthday on Friday the 8th of May and as a way of celebrating his birthday, Jack and his boys football team, Cray Wanderers U13s (Kent County Cup Champions - see picture below) are going to run or cycle 200km between them over the 3 days of the bank holiday weekend (social distancing rules will be followed). They should have been competing in the ESF Butlins Football tournament (which they won in 2017 and 2018) and instead they are putting their energies into fundraising. They would like to raise money to help people in the local community who are effected by Covid-19.

Jack's brother has designed a fabulous logo for this page in support too (see below)

.

Covid-19 has swept across the world and is effecting lots of people in many different ways. The RA and Woolwich Covid-19 Mutual Aid Group is a group of volunteers helping their local community. Help available is collecting shopping and medicines for those who are vulnerable or isolating, providing chat buddies to those who are isolating alone, as well as helping those struggling financially to put food on their tables with food care packages while directing them to established aid programmes and government backed initiatives for long term help.

Money raised through this fabulous effort by Cray Wanderers U13 will be used to help fund food care packages. Any monies not utilised by the mutual aid group will be donated to The Felix Project a registered food distribution charity in London fighting food waste and hunger (Registered Charity No. 1168183).
