Story

Tobi, the white Italian sheepdog, was born in Southern Italy approx four years ago. He lived on the streets, survived abuse and cruelty, never knowing a home or regular food. I learned that whilst on the streets one of Tobi's hind legs was amputated on razor wire that they use to hunt wild boar, he struggled with his injury alone with his hind paw hanging off, until it eventually dropped off. I can only imagine the pain he endured, its amazing he lived through it.

One of the volunteers who help the street dogs, contacted me and said he was scheduled for euthanasia. She persuaded me to adopt him and I could only agree that his tenacity and courage deserved to be rewarded. I finally collected Tobi from the courier on 18th July this year.

So now its September and the once sad faced, walking skeleton of a dog with a matted coat has become a happy, much loved part of my family in the New Forest. In spite of everything he endured he never lost faith in humans, he’s quiet, respectful and grateful for food and kindness, and quick to wag his tail in thanks! He's continuing to gain weight and improve, and he loves his new brothers and sister.

I'm asking for help raising the money to get Tobi a new leg for two reasons;

A) his quality of life is limited with only one hind leg, its already having a detrimental effect on his hips and spine

AND

B) he'd love nothing more than to be able to run with his new pack, playing, sniffing and chasing around the woods in the forest.

I don't have all the money it will cost to pay for Tobi's new leg and I‘m appealing to any sympathic people who are kind enough to help by donating a small amount of money towards his veterinary costs. Thank you.
