I've raised £6000 to Fund publishing a light hearted children's book about understanding the loss of a parent when you have disabilities and need help.

I'm Jackie aka mum and dad to my precious gem Owen. I have recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer and the way in which I want to tell Owen about life without me, is to write a light hearted, but meaningful book to include most of his favourite things. In this way, I feel he will be more prepared for his future and to be reassured that there will always be other loving people around him.
Owen produces miles of smiles on a daily basis, however, this is one of the few things he is able to do for himself. For all other aspects of life Owen is dependent on others, most notably me.
My greatest concern is his happiness and security, so being able to publish a book will give him a reminder of me and possibly the opportunity to fund his therapies and trips to day centres, which at the moment are under threat. Owen is a very sociable young man, who deserves to enjoy experiences with his peers.
He loves colourful picture books and rhymes and this funding page will hopefully allow me to realise the dream of getting a book published. Already some wonderful children's book illustrators have offered their services, and with your help, we can make this happen.
Thank you for your kind attention, it would be nice to be able to read the book to him soon, and for those lovely people who will be looking after him when I'm gone, to be able to continue reading it.
