As a Nursery in the U.K, we are joining with Solihull Sixth Form and Hamstead Hall academy in Birmingham, to raise money for buildings and teachers as well as supplies and uniforms for the children in Abuko, Gambia.
We will be using the fundraising as a way of teaching the children about less fortunate children of similar ages and to enable them to understand cultural differences.
To train a teacher in Gambia, it cost approx. £120.00 per year, which they have to fund themselves. When they are trained, they are only paid £30.00 per month.
