On Friday 26th June at 12pm we will be laying our Mom, Jackie Jessup to rest at Gornal Wood crematorium. Unfortunately, due to current covid-19 restrictions we are limited to 16 people able to attend inside and 15 people outside, hopefully things change before the 26th but at present we are limited to family only. We shall update this page should the numbers change.

For those wishing to pay their respects, the procession shall leave from Jackie’s home address (202 Gayfield Avenue, Brierley Hill, DY5 2BP) at 11:30am, we shall take an anticlockwise route around Gayfield Avenue past Withymoor Primary School (which shall be on the left hand side) and onwards to Gornal Wood, please feel free to line the streets of Gayfield Avenue or the entrance to the crematorium (given the restrictions at the crematorium, Gayfield may be the better option).

A beloved Mom to Nikki, Stuart & Paul and their partners Diane, Claire & Sarah, and a devoted Nan to Tori & Charlie. She will be missed forever more.

A truly selfless lady who devoted her life to helping others, she ran the Withymoor Community Association since the early 80’s and has made an impact in many peoples lives within the community, be it providing affordable childcare with playgroups/stay & play/summer camps to the numerous school appeals panels she sat on to help children enter the schools of their choice.

At one point or another she will have been the oracle we turned to for support and advice, the cheerleader providing self-belief, the voice of reason, the cornerman for our fights, the taxi driver, the corrector of wrongs, the friendly smile to lift spirits and although cooking wasn’t her strong point the chef for most of our hungry friends whilst growing up. The void she leaves behind is truly devastating but our hearts are full of love and her voice will continue to play in our minds.

We are requesting family only flowers for the funeral, but in memory of our Mom, we have decided to create a fund-raising page for those who may wish to make a donation. All funds will be transferred to the Withymoor Community Association Charity (no. 508084), for new toys/crafts and towards some much needed air conditioning.
