Story

Jack Mastin Temprell was born on 16th January 2018. We were so excited to welcome our little boy into the world but his arrival and first week of life was not the easiest of starts.
On 14th January I went into labour. Two days and an emergency c-section later Dave and I tentatively awaited those first cries that would let us know our baby was OK. It took a little while, a lot of worry and some work from the doctors but we were soon handed our beautiful baby boy.
A few hours later on the ward and he was whisked off to the intensive care unit of the neonatal ward. Jack had low sodium levels, problems with his breathing, a possible infection and a heart murmer.
The team on the neonatal unit were phenomenal. He recieved the best possible care and treatment from an amazing team of doctors and nurses. After the longest week of our lives, Jack recovered and we were allowed to take home our gorgeous boy to start family life together.
We are so incredibly grateful to the team at the Bedford Neonatal unit for looking after our boy and us. It's thanks to them our Jack is happy and healthy.
So, to celebrate his first birthday we are asking our friends and family to help us to raise some much needed funds for the neonatal department. In lieu of a gift for Jack, or even if you have a couple of quid to spare, please donate so that we can contribute to some new equipment for the ward.
Thank you. Love Sarah, Dave and Jack
