People who have known me personally and who have worked with me for a number of years will know how precious I have been about my beard. I go for a haircut and beard groom monthly without fail for the last 5+ years. At work it's optional to be fitted for a fit mask which enables me to deal with those patients at high risk of contracting covid 19. Unfortunately, that means I will have to go clean shaven the full beard has to go for the first time in many many years. I thought why not raise a bit of money for local causes whilst doing it. The SHAVE will take place in the morning but will keep this page up for a week or 2 allowing people to donate to the following causes.
75% of the money raised will go to ageuk wraparound service this service supports older householders in the Wakefield district who are self isolated and maybe feeling overly anxious and emotionally depleted through fear of Covid 19; each caller to the service has a specialist staff member allocated they then offer a range of support and a friendly listening ear with ideas of coping with self isolation. Peoples mental well-being is a massive worry in these unprecedented times.
25% of the money donated will go on food and will be donated to local foodbanks across the Wakefield area will keep everyone informed.
