    Story

June 2016, Latham was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer, a rare type of neck and head cancer which directly affects the throat, nasal passages and the lymph nodes of the patient. This form of cancer is extremely rare, only representing less than 1 case per 100,000 of all cancer patients.

It is important to note that although the common routes of chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be used to fight these cancerous cells, they can also cause a lot of harm to the patient undergoing these treatments. In the case of Nasopharyngeal Cancer these treatments can have as low as 2% success on someone with an already strong immune system. People with weaker immune systems to begin with are often more susceptible to damage. This essentially makes the body weaker to combat the cancer on its own. In this particular case removing the cancer is also not an option as it is much too close the the nerves and the brain.

It is with all this in mind, supported by Latham's own personal beliefs, that we are aiming to raise money towards alternative treatment. Through intense research we have found a hospital abroad that will provide the specialised treatments that Latham will need to help him win his fight against this rare condition. These include: vitamin C IV's, oxygen therapy, alkaline diet and cleansing to name a few. The focus of these treatments is not only physical but there is emphasis on restoring and strengthening the psychological impact that the illness poses.
Importantly this hospital provides all of the treatments necessary for his recovery in one location which is ideal as it eliminates any potential toll that travel would take on Latham's health. In preparation for these treatments Latham is already following a strict diet routine to cleanse and give the body the strongest fighting chance of success.
