Recently my husband, my father and myself had the incredible privilege of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in the beautiful country of Tanzania. We arrived not knowing too much about the country itself but were soon astounded by it's beauty and the wonderful, kind and friendly people we met there. We went through a non profit organisation called Focus in Africa. They do an incredible amount of good work and we were lucky enough to see The Good Hope school and orphanage that the owner Nelson Mbise helps and supports. We arrived at Nelson's house to find several volunteers staying there. Doctors, lawyers and other travellers who came from all around the world to lend a hand with various good work that Focus in Africa supports. It was a humbling experience. After having 7 wonderful days with our guides and porters, we soon learned how incredibly important education is to the people of Tanzania and how the country focuses on educating it's people. The devastating effects of HIV/AIDS and other illnesses such as TB however has left a large number of vulnerable and orphaned children in Tanzania. Their beautiful bright faces warmed our hearts and it seems only right that we appeal now to our friends, family and anybody out there who wants to give 1 dollar or even 1 penny to this wonderful cause.
