Story
my some may In January 2020, I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. A disease that has no cure and which is devastating to the individual, thier family and friends.
Mid Kent MND branch are and have been amazing, right from the begining, by providing an amazing amount of support in so many ways, from advise, emotional and practical support, equipment and so much more.
To show my appreciation and despite this disease causing increasing physical difficulty to the point where i now can not use my legs to walk and experiencing weakness in other limbs, I am going to attempt to swim 5000 meters, 1 meter for every person in this country affected by MND which will be a huge challenge and perhaps not sensible, to try & raise money over the next 3 months,. The money raised will enable the branch to continue to support people with vital equipment and support, and to contribute to fund much needed research to find a cure, for this life changing disease.

3 years agoHi everyone I have been so overwhelmed by the messages of support and kind wishes I have received as well as the very much needed donations. I still have about 1200 meters to do, lockdown has slowed me down and my challenge is on hold along because of this and the PEG that I am due to have fitted. However I will complete my challenge and I remain very determined to reach my 5000 meter goal no matter how more difficult. This challenge is becoming. Please keep up the support it really helps so much. With many thanks Jacqui XXX
