Hey!

As many of you know, I am now in my second year of children's nursing at Anglia Ruskin University and I absolutely love it! There is something about helping children and their families in times of need and crisis that is so rewarding and its something that I am so passionate about.

I have been offered an amazing opportunity to go to Kathmandu in Nepal with work the world which offer nursing placements to students to study abroad and naturally I have taken this once in a lifetime opportunity with both hands. I will be travelling to Nepal with Hayley in August 2017 and will be out there for four weeks.

I will be working in a specialist children's hospital for three weeks in various wards and theatre and then working and living in a mud hut in a village on the Himalayan mountains for a week. I will be living with a host family and supporting the village medics with nursing care for a large population. Whilst getting stuck in with the farming and culture of living and working in a deprived area.

As with everything, this experience is going to cost a lot of money, approximately £2000, this is volunteering work and I will not get paid for my work in the hospital, it is purely to help the children and families out there and for me to gain further experience to what it is like to work in a different country which doesn't have the resources that we do here in the UK.

I would greatly appreciate any donations towards this, having already paid my £300 deposit I have a lot of fundraising to do!
