I've raised £500 to raise money for 2 charities - 50% will go to Crohns & Colitis UK and the other 50% to the Ileostomy association.

My name is Jade and I'm organising a fun day at Yewdale community centre on Sunday 9th September 2pm-4pm. There will be local business stalls there, there will a raffle taking place, face painting & nail painting, a burger van, tea and coffee, candy floss and cupcakes and special guests Peppa pig and Carl the minion. I am doing this event to raise money and awareness for 2 Charities very close to my heart and these are - Crohn's & Colitis UK & The Ileostomy Association. I have set this page up for those who can't make the event and wish to donate still.
A little bit about me - Back in May 2013 I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis after 6 months of being in horrendous pain and having bloody diarrhoea. I was started on medication for this straight away however it failed, my body just rejected it. I was never out of remission for any longer than 3 months, the pain got worse and I became anaemic with the amount of blood I was losing, I had numberous of hospital admission and tests done on me over the next 3 years however even with strong infusion medication they couldn't keep the ulcers at bay. I was admitted into hospital in Friday 19th Feb 2016 and was given 48 hours to improve on a high dose of steroids however Sunday 21st came along and at 9am I was rushed to theatre after I said good bye to my family. 9 hours later I woke up in a recovery room with my family around me knowing I had just had my large bowel removed and a permanent stoma was in place. I felt my world had ended! However 2 years later I can say I love my stoma and the life it has given me and want to spread the awareness of Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis and what life is like with a stoma. My battle however didn't just end there I have another major decision to make about surgery and I'm at risk of developing bowel cancer and have to be tested for this regular. I want to try and raise a lot of money for these 2 amazing charities who aren't funded a great deal or have a lot of awareness around them.
