    Story

My name is Jaden Thompson, I am 14 years old and have been a member of the East Area Thai/Kickboxing club based in Bedford since the age of 4½.

During my 10+ year journey with East Area, I have always worked hard to maintain a very high, school and training life balance. My dedication to the sport has seen me in recent years, step up my training to 5-6 times a week. I have also been boxing with East Area Boxing Academy for the last year. I am very passionate about the sport.

I am the second youngest black belt in the clubs 35 year history which I achieved at the age of 12 and have just taken my 2nd Dan grading which I passed and was awarded on the 17th December 2017.

I started competing outside the clubs local competitions in February of last year and in that short period of time, I became the Peterborough 2017 Series Grand Champion in two fight categories.

Late 2016, I trialled and was successful in being selected for the England Squad. April of last year I joined Team England at the ISKA (International Sport Kickboxing Association) World Amateur Kickboxing Championships which were held in Athens. I fought in two fight categories and won a Bronze medal in each.

The beginning of October 2017, I entered the ISKA World Qualifiers where I became the -45kg K1 Light and Light Continuous English Champion.

These two recent successes have secured my place on the England Squad for the second consecutive year and the chance to once again represent my Country in the 2018 World Kickboxing Championships which are being held in Montego Bay.

This is by far my greatest achievement to date. I would really like the chance to turn my two previous Bronze medals into Golds for my country and the town of Bedford.

My all round commitment, determination and desire to be the best I possibly can are second to none. I am hoping that you can see the passion I have and would consider supporting me in achieving my dream of winning a Gold Medal for England.

Thank you for taking the time to read my page and your support.

I’ve had a very successful trip out to The World Championships in Jamaica. After competing in three categories, I have won a bronze medal in -51kg points (my least favourite category). I aggravated a groin injury during the points section but pushed through it for my favourite categories to become World Champion in -51kg continuous and World Champion in -51kg K1, coming away with two Gold Medals. I would sincerely like to thank each and everyone of you who believed in me. Thank you once again for your support . Jaden

5 1/2 weeks to go & then the fun begins. Stepping up my training now, to 8-9 classes a week. Including - boxing, Kickboxing, Thai boxing & fitness training. Plus any extra sessions I can fit in during the day or Team England squad training. I’m running 15-25 miles a week - if you see me out running don’t forget to honk your horn 👍🏾 I am doing my very best to ensure that I am 100% ready for what lies ahead of me in these World Championships. Thank you to everyone for your continued support, I really do appreciate it. Jaden T
