I'm raising £1,000 (at least!)

I would like to introduce you to my wonderfully, beautiful friend Jae. Jae is the most amazing mammy to her girls and top wife to her husband Paul. Jae is the kind of friend who is there when you need her, sends entertaining podcast voice notes to always brighten your day and no matter how long you go between seeing her it always picks up where you left off. The world could definitely do with more people like Jae who bring joy to every day.

Now, ordinarily Jae likes to keep her circle of friends close but on this occasion and with her permission she is allowing me to reach out to the masses. 2024 brought the news that no one wanted Jae was firstly diagnosed with breast cancer which is hard in itself. She got her head around a treatment plan and in true Jae style she was ready to tackle it head on! However, she was given a devastating blow that she in fact had secondary breast cancer and it had spread. Meaning options for treatment are now to aim for stability. As you can imagine this is news that none of us wanted. But in true Jae fashion it’s about making the most of what we’ve got. This is where 50 for 50 stemmed from. Jae has a list of 50 things with her big 50th birthday in November this year in mind.

My contribution to Jae’s 50 things is to walk 50km in a day (Saturday 1st February). Along with some trusty colleagues we are going to clock up the kilometres along the Brecon and Monmouthshire canal. If you would like to join in please get in touch you don’t need to do the full 50km but, the more the merrier.

So why my long ramble? I would love for you to sponsor us for this challenge with all monies going to Jae and her beautiful family who deserve the world and more. Hopefully whatever we raise will help take the pressure off day to day living and allow for some special things to be ticked off the list. Let’s help Jae and her family make forever memories.
