I've raised £4000 to Fund the Send off Jake deserves

We are all saddened with the sudden passing of our beloved Jake. Son, Brother, Uncle, Boyfriend and friend. He was such a bright man and always put a smile on someone’s face. During these hard times our family cannot believe the amount of messages and sympathy wishes given, he truly had such and amazing group of family and friends. There will most definitely be a void for a lot of people now that he has gone.
As some of you might know, Jake tried to take his own life, causing him to spend some time in the intensive care unit. Jake lost the fight. Jake suffered for many years with mental health issues, much deeper than just depression and sadly even with the reach out for help by the medical profession Jake was failed by the system - as are hundreds of other people - the funding within the NHS is simply not available within the mental health specialty. Therefore many people like Jake, are left feeling there is nothing else to do. It’s a huge disappointment that this happens as often as it does and that there is not more we can do about it.
Because this was a very sudden incident, there are no funeral plans in place for him, as well as no funding for a funeral. Whilst the family will do as much as they can within, we have had a few messages and offers showing interest into contributing towards the funeral, out of the love and respect they have for Jake. So we have set this up for those who would like to contribute.
As a family we have decided that any funds left after the funeral has been paid will be donated to a mental health charity (to be decided later) to help people like Jake.
Sadly due to COVID -19, this will not be able to be the huge send off Jake deserves and will have to be kept to family members only. But Jake would be expecting every single person to celebrate his life in their own way. Do this to remind you of the much loved man we have sadly lost. We would love to see your ‘send offs’ posted to Jakes Facebook, as we all know Jake loved a party!
