Memorial Bench for Jake Willey

Jake’s optimism, happy demeanour and positivity were contagious, he enhanced the vibe wherever he went and for that I will always thank him. Jake was a big bloke, but he had a kind, supportive nature, he was always there when you needed him. Now it is us that needs to be there for Jake and show our appreciation to have been involved in his life.

I have been in contact with the council for a few weeks now and they have agreed to build a bench in memory of Jake. The bench itself will cost a minimum of £900, but if we raise a bit more we will be able to get a bigger bench, engravings etc. The bench will be fitted into the ground with concrete.

I have proposed a spot just off of Leafland (see image below) to the council because it's a beautiful calm place where people can go to think about Jake and all of positive things he did. Please note, the location is subject to change. I have a meeting with the Council at the desired location during the first week of January. They have reassured me that they are confident the bench will go ahead in this location.

So why start fundraising before the location is confirmed?

Once the meeting in January has happened, it will take around 6 weeks for the bench to be made and fitted. I don't want to slow this process down anymore so I decided to raise the money beforehand.

Thanks for your time and if you can afford to please donate.
