Story

Hi,

My name is Jakub, and I am raising funds to support this year's HCPT pilgrimage to Lourdes.

Starting from the 13th of February, I will be cycling 416Km over three days. Along my journey through the idyllic Westcountry countryside I will be staying in Exeter and Bodmin, and will take stops in other wonderful towns and villages along the way.

For my journey I will be using a trusty Centurion Super Elite from the 1970s. The bicycle has been lovingly restored by my father's friend, but as expected, lacks many of the comfort features of more modern road bikes. The steel frame, lack of suspension uneven road surfaces do not make for the most luxurious of journeys.

HCPT is a charity that offers disabled and disadvantaged children with the opportunity to experience an annual pilgrimage-holiday in Lourdes. For many of these children this is their first time abroad, on an aeroplane, or even away from home. It is the journey of a lifetime which can transform the lives of the young people that we take. The week is full of laughter and friendship at every turn. Many are very eager to return the following year, or even as helpers.

Funds raised will help cover the fees for the children and their helpers, totaling around £1,000 each. Any additional contributions will be added to a group pot and help make the pilgrimage as memorable as possible for those that we help. Your generosity is very warmly appreciated, and helps to make a massive difference.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting the cause. Please have a look below at photos from previous pilgrimages!!
