I'm raising £3000 to support Jamaica's Hurricane aftermath

Story

Jamaica has never experienced a natural disaster like Hurricane Melissa.

My mother, at 89 years old, sheltered 15 people during the storm while a waterfall cascaded down her stairs and she lost chunks of her roof. She currently has no power, no water, and limited communication. I am deeply concerned about her food and medication supplies, especially with mosquitoes breeding in the aftermath. Yet, she fared better than many others in her community.

The local area has been decimated, with other communities cut off and many people living in horrific conditions. My family has been running relief missions wherever possible, focusing on areas where we have connections, to provide essential support for survival and recovery.

Jamaica will thrive again, but the road to recovery will be long and arduous. We urgently need your support during this critical time. Your donations will make a significant difference; by contributing here, you can be assured that your money will go directly to those in need. If you wish to give specifically to my mother, please mark your donations as "For Marjorie Monteith."

Thank you for taking the time to visit this fundraising page. Donating through this platform is simple, fast, and secure—your details are safe and will never be sold or misused. Once you donate, I will withdraw funds directly; it’s the most efficient way to ensure help reaches those who need it most.
