Story

On the 3rd February this year my dear friend, James Barry Crain, sadly passed away aged only 33 years.

As young boys growing up around the ‘Somerford Triangle’ James and I often accompanied by his younger brother, Harvey, would spend much of our childhood den building and exploring this part of the Somerford countryside.

Losing a close childhood friend is particularly traumatic, but this has been compounded by the fact that many of our childhood haunts, in this beautiful part of rural Cheshire, are now subject to planning permission or being built upon. So much so that it almost feels as though part of my childhood died with James.

In light of this I would like do something to commemorate his life and the memories we shared of Somerford in the form of a memorial bench or similar to be positioned on the ‘Triangle’, subject to approval from the Somerford Parish Council.

My intention is to raise enough money through friends, family, loves ones, and local residents in the form of donations to fund the memorial. Any remaining donations will be sent to his son Archie or split between the charities named at James' funeral.
