Hi my name is james,

i have been selected to be a assistant unit leadee from my county west mercia to take 36 scouts to the 24th world scout jamboree in 2019 held at West Virginia.

we will be going out there for 3 weeks the aim is to provide the youth members to meet over 40000 other scouts from over 99 other countries. Also to deliver a unique international adventure shaped by young people, where contingent members will develop personally and have a positive longer term impact on Scouting and beyond.

This is a fantastic oppurtunity both for leaders and the youth members. We as leaders dont get paid as we are volunteers, we also have to take the time off work while we are out there and use our holiday allowence, we also have to pay the same amount as the children £3495. The fee we pay covers the trip to the jamboree but also goes towards children amd adults from a strugerling country to help bring there costs down so they can have the same oppurtunity And experiances.

we are currantly doing lots off fundraising to help raise money for the team to go. I am hoping to fundraise the amount and more to be able to help other leaders and youth members with there fundraising as in total as a team we need to fundraise over £139400.
