3 years agoJames's Charity is set up and funded, so thank you to everyone who has so generously contributed over the year since he died. James would be a little embarrassed by your generosity, but would so have enjoyed the company of those who attended his Memorial Service on his birthday in July. The Charity will begin the process of engaging with the causes that James wanted to benefit, providing access for young people to sports and the arts in North Wales and in Birmingham which will build their personal confidence. This page will now close.

3 years agoOur thanks to everyone who has been so generous in support of The James Hutchings Charity. We have been overwhelmed by the sum raised so far, and very happy to report that a first commitment was made to Ensemble Cymru in support of their first post-Covid concert in September. That concert can be seen via their concerts page here: https://nwimf.com/2021-hybrid-festival-ensemble-cymru-video

4 years agoThank you everyone for such generous support to The James Hutchings Charity in his memory. James's funeral was held yesterday in Llanengan near Abersoch in north Wales where he spent many happy summers. We were rather limited in numbers attending due to Covid restrictions in the Church in Wales, but a link to the Service is here: https://www.facebook.com/1032321300/videos/416092723175196/ We hope to hold a Memorial in Birmingham in the autumn to mark his life and civic service to our city.

Before moving Birmingham, James lived in Lymm Cheshire and was Club Captain of Lymm RFC in 1962/63. A highly respected Capt & Player. In his memory, I am very happy to support his charity. RIP James.
