    Story

Five years ago Northampton Martial Arts Academy started to run summer activity programs in some of the most deprived Wards in Northampton. Our aim was to provide young people aged 5 to 18 with opportunities to participate in a range of sport, educational and fun activities that met their needs and interests.

This has proved so successful that last year we ran a total of 30 sessions for over 400 young people across five deprived Wards over five weeks on or around the Eastern District of Northampton.

We worked with a range of voluntary and statutory organisations to provide young people with information and advice on a range of issues including anti social behaviour, fire safety, first aid, alcohol and drugs and relationships both with other young people and families.

This year we want to make the event even better and reach twice as many young people. We want to provide a wider range of activities and events inlcuding a climbing wall and some fun action bouncy castles.

Please pass this onto all your friends and contacts, it may well benefit someone you know. We only need 1000 people to give £4 each and were there. Northampton's population is close to 300,000. This is realistic

Just to finish a quick case study from 2017.

X was a acutely deaf young man aged 9. X was very introvert and did not speak to anyone including his direct family which caused some concern and many issues. X participated for a full week across different venues in our activities and stated "its the best time I've ever had". X's mum praised the project as she had never seen such an improvement in X's well being and emotional state. All the family noticed a significant change and this made all their lives more bearable.

You could support someone like X and make a real difference. Please donate
