Story

My name is James Lettice and I am an Author ,Poet and Speaker from Blackpool. On the 20th July I will be doing a charity walk from Fleetwood to Lytham to raise much needed funds for two fantastic causes, The Rosemere Cancer Unit in Preston and for Streetlife in the Fylde.

The Rosemere Cancer Centre support world class cancer treatment throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria. In 2001 , after being diagnosed with cancer , I received excellent treatment at the centre, and wonderful aftercare.

Street life is an inspirational charity who assist vulnerable young people in Blackpool, a lot of whom are homeless. Street Life is close to my heart, as I am a recovering alcoholic and could easily have been one of the unfortunate people that they support every day. I did sleep rough for a short while when I was 21, but I am proud to say that on the 21st July I will have been sober for 40 years. I am very fortunate and would like to give something back to the community who have supported me so kindly over the years.

I am 78 years old so this is going to be my last physical challenge of my lifetime and I intend to make it memorable!

Please support me by making a donation via this JustGiving page. Every donation you make will go towards the amazing work of these two great charities.
