£1,660raised of £10,000 target by 51 supporters

Weʼve raised £1,660 to cover the cost of urgent spinal surgery for my step daughter, by giving away my entire record collection to one lucky donor.

Funded on Friday, 7th December 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

I'm a step dad trying to do my bit. I want to raise £10,000 of the total £60,00 needed to pay for Violet's surgery.

This is a little different to a normal just giving plea. I’m raising money so Violet, can have the spine correction surgery she urgently needs. The procedure she needs isn’t available on the NHS so we have to find a way to fund it ourselves. So here goes and please bear with me (gulps!) .

For updates about our overall fundraising see our Facebook Group

If you want to read more about Violet and her scoliosis please look HERE

I am going to give away my entire record collection to one lucky supporter of this cause, please read on to learn more

I spent years in the late 80’s and early 90’s dj’ing in and around Manchester and Stoke for a Rave promoter known as New Dawn. We had a few good club nights at Rockworld, the Limit, and the Gallery. We also had a regular Sunday night show on Signal Radio, New Dawn - Meeting of the Minds.

I have kept about 500 records which are my personal favourites, some of which are quite sought after - most of the records in the video are still in my possession.

A full list can be found HERE

To raise funds I am going to give ALL of them away. I’ll even deliver them personally (UK Mainland only) and throw in a couple of record boxes. (I won't be needing them anymore)

So - have a look through the list, surely it’s worth taking a £5 punt to be in with a chance of owning this collection

Discogs collection valuation is between £1,456.28 and £6,026.60 based on previous prices. All records are used. I have looked after them as well as I can but many of these have been gigged. There will be some surface marks and crackles, but overall they are in good condition. The only issues I am aware of are 1. DJ Nipper “ Now that’s what I call a bootleg” has a BIG click in it VERY BIG so don’t enter just to get hold of this! And 2. Asha “JJ Tribute” which is absolutely ruined and unplayable!!

To be in with a chance of winning these records you will need to enter this Prize competition

So the rules are as follows

1.You can enter by making a £5 donation

2.You can enter 5 times by making a £20 donation

3.You will need to answer the competition question. Put your chosen answer as a comment when you donate.

4.When you enter you must tick the box “I’m happy to be contacted by”. Just giving can then share your contact details with me so I can contact you if you are a winner.

5.All entries will have the equivalent number of tickets allocated. And a winner will be chosen at random.

    6.No alternatives will be offered

7.The winner will be contacted by email

8.You agree to have your name published on this page if you win

    9. We are fundraising in other ways as well. The target overall is £60000. Once we have raised our total, this page will be closed and the draw will take place

    10. Delivery of records only applies to UK Mainland. If you are donating from abroad you will need to make arrangements for shipping yourself.

Prize draw question: Put your answer as a comment on your donation

Which one of these was NOT a New Dawn DJ? (although the correct answer did headline one night at Rockworld)

Thank you to everyone for your support. Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of people, many who we don't know and will never meet, we raised all the money, and Violet had her operation on the 22nd October. I have drawn the winner, please follow the link to see the results.
