Story

To the residents of Leziate and Ashwicken - your help would be appreciated.

There is a serious problem with parking and traffic size and speed in your village. At a public meeting in September last year it became clear that between £15,000 and £20,000 would be needed to extend the 'Clearway' to roads off the B1145 to prevent street parking for visitors to Bawsey pits, and to fund a Traffic Study.

I have committed to fund £10,000 from my Highways fund towards this work. But we need more and I wanted to create a method for residents, and those who would benefit, whom might wish to help to be able to contribute to the cost of the work as the Parish Council has insufficient funds to make up the shortfall.

I am therefore going to once again don my trainers and do the 10K Great East Anglia Run (GEAR) on 1st May in King's Lynn. I ran it once before in 2018 but shingles, a worn out knee and a liking for red wine will make this a much more challenging undertaking. All sponsorship will be donated to your Parish Council and ring-fenced to only be spent on the above.
