Story
Hi folks.
As most of you know, every year I do a show with Theatre Guild Glasgow.
Every year we choose a charity to support and make a donation from our ticket sales as well as other fundraising events.
This year we have chosen to support the Catherine McEwan Foundation which raises awareness of those affected by Crohn’s & Colitis. The Foundation is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers so there are no staffing costs. All the money they raise goes directly to supporting people living with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.
To help the foundation I have decided to take part in this year’s 10K which will be held in Glasgow on the 1st October.
I decided to do this as a personal challenge because this time last year I was very overweight and wanted to try and get fit again so a few months ago I started running. My own personal goal was to get down to 13 stone which I am now very close to.
So although I have been losing a few pounds recently, I am hoping to raise a few pounds for this very worthwhile cause.
Please help me to get to my goals of running my first 10K and making a donation no matter how large or small and my weary legs thank you for your support. Also don’t forget to add your details for Gift aid as this will add 25% to the donation.
Jim Munro.

7 years agoSo here goes. This time tomorrow I'll be running the 10K. And I believe it's gonna be WET !! But it won't dampen my spirits. The amount of well wishes from people has been brilliant so I'm ready. Thank you so much to every single person who has donated so far and this is my final time asking if you have a quick 5 minutes, please log onto my Just Giving page and donate to the foundation. It really makes a difference. Will let you know the total amount raised next week. Wish me luck 😜

7 years agoHi folks. With just under 3 weeks to go to my 10K, I would just like to say a quick thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Through my Just Giving page and various donations on my paper sponsor form, I have so far raised a total of £525 which is about 70% of my target. However I still need your help to reach my target of £750. After a few weeks off from running due to a shin splint injury, I was back out today and looking forward to running on the 1st of October. Please if you can log onto my page and donate to this worthwhile cause.

7 years agoNow with just 7 weeks to go, it's getting closer all the time. I have been training well and set a new personal best for my 5K park run today. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far but we still need your help. Doesn't matter how big or small, EVERY PENNY goes to this worthwhile cause. I am really enjoying the training and looking forward to my first 10K in the 1st of October. All donations welcome and see you all next week for another update Jim
