    Story

I'm a teacher of a secondary school in Kent. There are many students in the school who are willing to go out to Kenya and support the people there for a month during the summer of 2018. The students have to raise a minimum of £3600 pounds to do so. Whilst out there they will be building houses, helping with education, making clean and sustainable food and water, helping with healthcare and sanitation, protecting the environment and helping create sustainable livelihoods for local communities. The donations provided will go to help the people of Kenya and benefit those who are willing to give up their time to make a difference.

I will be raising money by running many different events over the next year. On the 23rd and 24th September 2017, I will be running the 50 Mile Surrey Hills Challenge event that involves map reading and night running. I am also doing this with another teacher at the school, Mr Williams. This is the biggest run of my life and will involve many hours of training to prepare for the challenge.

Please sponsor me as the money will go to the students of Wrotham School, to help them reach their target, and support the people of Kenya.

Thank you everyone for supporting me. I am now up to £400 in sponsorship money. We completed the event last night in 12 hours and 45 minutes. We did get lost a few times which added on an extra few miles. The hardest part for me was miles 18-25 where we had had the sun on us the entire time making the first part quite tough. I had 3.5 liters of water during that stage and was feeling quite week. Fortunately the the sun stared to go down and from mile 25 I felt strong and stopped for hot food at the 32 mile checkpoint.

Less than a week to go until the mad 50 mile challenge. The last week has seen a decrease in long runs and this week will see me consume as much food as possible. All of your support is really appreciated and thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. The tasks for this week include packing the kit, planning the route on the the OS maps I have bought, so I can make each checkpoint.
