Sadly due to the state of emergency declared in Spain, aircraft being turned back in midair and advice from the travel company that organised this walk I have decided to postpone this challenge. The advice is that the virus could last until June. Not wanting to walk in a hot Spanish summer I plan to do the walk in October of this year. Due to your generous and kind donations we have reached the target of £5,000 and even surpassed this amount as there have been donations not mentioned on 'Just Giving'. Further good news is that my company Charles Stanley has agreed to make a donation of £2,500 which is an addition to the £5,000 raised which gives a total of over £7,500 raised. The Sisters of the Community of St Mary at the Cross have cared for the sick and poor, and those in need of every kind in London since their Foundation in 1866. In 2019 we realised that our care work was following a new development as we were requested to accommodate persons requiring complex care – this is the need of our present time. Persons, often younger people, who need to leave the hospital environment but are too ill to live at home. Henry Nihill House provides a homely atmosphere giving comfort and peace.
