Weʼve raised £5,796 to raise funds for the Henry Nihill House
- Funded on Tuesday, 31st March 2020

Story
The Henry Nihill House look after the sick and the elderly, but they also provide for persons with complex care needs, in a homely atmosphere.
This is very intense nursing & a great need today. Also this is very expensive because of the nurse salaries & equipment required. It is akin to the Hospice & like them we do not receive extra funding for either the Government or local council.
But it needs financial support to keep going!

4 years agoSadly due to the state of emergency declared in Spain, aircraft being turned back in midair and advice from the travel company that organised this walk I have decided to postpone this challenge. The advice is that the virus could last until June. Not wanting to walk in a hot Spanish summer I plan to do the walk in October of this year. If anybody would like to join me on this walk in October do email me or contact Mother Abbess. The decision was made with a heavy heart and much soul searching. Best wishes James

4 years agoDue to your generous and kind donations we have reached the target of £5,000 and even surpassed this amount as there have been donations not mentioned on 'Just Giving'. Further good news is that my company Charles Stanley has agreed to make a donation of £2,500 which is an addition to the £5,000 raised which gives a total of over £7,500 raised. There maybe further good news but I need to have confirmation before releasing the details. So a really great big thank you to all of you and it means the world to me that we have raised so much. James

4 years agoThe Sisters of the Community of St Mary at the Cross have cared for the sick and poor, and those in need of every kind in London since their Foundation in 1866. In 2019 we realised that our care work was following a new development as we were requested to accommodate persons requiring complex care – this is the need of our present time. Persons, often younger people, who need to leave the hospital environment but are too ill to live at home. Henry Nihill House provides a homely atmosphere giving comfort and peace.
