Story

In January I set myself a challenge of walking 250,000 steps, smashed it, February upped it to 10,000 a day, smashed it, now March is 12,000.

My wife Jaclyn and even Bentley are now doing the same.

As well as getting a bit fitter, we’ve also been cajoled into doing the Kilt Walk on 27th April, 23 miles or approximately 50,000 steps😱

As a lot of you know before COVID we were both heavily involved with the Local First Responder Group, post COVID numbers dwindled and the group is in ‘Hibernation’

While the Garnock Valley First Responders are not currently active, we still check, maintain and refresh the local public access defibrillators in Beith. Late last year we even installed a new one behind the Eglinton In

The group funds for this are reducing, and prices of defibrillator consumables are ever increasing, When used the pads require replacing and other consumables, this can cost over £140 if both sets of pads are used.

Batteries have a limited life and can cost up to £200
