Story

James Clarke was a stowaway from Guyana who came to Liverpool and saved many lives from the canals and River Mersey due to his swimming and athletic ability.

The Forum for Fine Arts CIC is a Community Interest Company that is looking to create a 7' marble statue to commemorate the life of James Clarke and gift it to the family that still remain within the city of Liverpool.

This first tranche of funding is to support the making of a scale model that can then be replicated to assist with future fundraising to help support the design, creation and installation of this sculpture.

Please give generously to help bring this sculpture to life and ensure that the life and achievements of James are not forgotten for generations to come.

James Clarke was the first black man to have a street in the city named after him and this reflects the importance of his heroic acts.
