Story
James Curtin (AKA Phocas) 17th September 1989 - 2nd January 2019
Following the sudden and tragic passing of James on 2nd January 2019, which as yet is still unexplained. James did not smoke, rarely drank and never took drugs. He went to sleep and just never woke up. James was 29 years old at the time of his passing, and was beloved by all those who knew him. He was a gentleman in the most true sense of the word, would do anything for anyone and didn't have a nasty bone in his body.
James leaves behind his Mother, Grandparents, 3 younger brothers (14,15 & 20) his sister and his new baby nephew whom he was due to see for the first time this past Monday. Sadly he never got to see him in person. James didn't have lots of friends, but those friends he did have were incredibly special to him. James was staying with his Grandparents at the time of his passing & it was his grandad who found him when trying to wake him for supper.
We obviously never made provision for costs of the passing of one so young & would like to raise some funds for essential expenses. James loved his nature & will be laid to rest at a Natural Burial woodland in Shamley Green. Anything over & above essential costs will be donated to the National Tremor Foundation which is a UK Charity dedicated to researching this condition - James suffered with essential tremor from an early age & whilst debilitating in many ways, was not life threatening, but restrictive in his ability to carry out tasks that most of us take for granted.
Despite being hounded relentlessly at school, (prior to Mr. McKenna-Slade's intervention) James went on to receive a triple distinction in Business Studies at Guildford College & then went on to receive a 2:2 at Edge Hill University in Marketing. He was truly a special, gentle person with the most wonderful sense of humour. To say he will be missed is such an understatement.
Please do contact the family if you would like to attend the Memorial service, which will take place after the burial.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank J. Goringe & Son for their overwhelming support & understanding.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, any support however small will be most gratefully appreciated.
