Story
We are fundraising to install an automatic glass entrance door at James Street Surgery, making access easier and safer for everyone in our community.
At James Street Surgery, we believe that everyone should be able to enter the building with dignity, ease and independence.
For many patients, the current entrance door is a real barrier — whether you are using a wheelchair, a walking aid, pushing a pram, carrying shopping, or simply feeling unwell. An automatic glass door would make a huge difference, improving access, safety and comfort for all.
We are fundraising to raise £10,000 to install a new automatic glass entrance door, creating a welcoming, inclusive and accessible entrance for our whole community.
This project is not just about a door.
It is about:
independence
dignity
safety
and making sure nobody feels excluded
Buy a Panel of Glass
Instead of “Buy a Brick”, we are inviting our community to Buy a Panel of Glass.
Suggested donations:
£5 / £10 / £15 / £20
As a thank you, donors’ names will be displayed in the surgery entrance hall on a framed name plaque and along our fundraising display wall — so everyone can proudly see that they helped open the door for others.
A Community Project
This is a true community project.
Throughout the year, our fundraising wall will grow as donations come in, with a winding path leading to an open door — symbolising our journey together towards a more accessible surgery.
We will also be linking the project to awareness days and special events, from Valentine’s Day and Heart Awareness Month to Nurses Day and Bonfire Night.
Our Goal
Our goal is to raise £10,000.
We know this may take around a year, but with the support of our wonderful community, we truly believe we can make it happen.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps bring us closer to opening the door for everyone.
Thank you so much for your support.
