Last weekend we lost much loved Friesland pupil and Sandiacre Town FC player James Turnbull due to a food allergy. As a result of James’ passing his family have asked that instead of flowers could any donations be made to the Friesland New 3G Pitch Fundraising pot. James was looking forward to playing and continuing his education on the new pitch, in fact the last time I spoke with him he was really excited and positive about the whole project.

The project itself is going to cost £650,000 with significant funding coming from the Football Foundation, however there is an expectation that both the school and club contribute to the project. We still have £100,000 to raise to make our dream come true, a brand new, state of the art, FIFA compliant, full size artificial turf pitch complete with floodlights and security fencing. The project will allow literally thousands of children and adults to enjoy playing football for generations to come and be a fitting memorial for James.
