Story

On July 15th 2018 I will be competing in the Scott Snowdon Trail Marathon and hoping to raise as much as I can for my wife's two cousins Nye and Laurie . Nye and Laurie are two young brothers who ten years ago were diagnosed with the genetic disorder Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Nye and Laurie both suffer with this degenerative muscle wasting disease which has resulted in them being wheelchair bound as they reach their teens. Having Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy gives Nye, Laurie and their parents daily emotional, psychological and physical challenges and they live with the knowledge that currently there is no cure. Their lives are limited in many ways by this cruel disease.

Money that I will raise through your sponsorship will go into the Nye and Laurie Trust. The purpose of the trust is to try to make Nye and Laurie's next ten years as full and happy as possible. The money raised will be used to help Nye and Laurie to participate in activities and take up opportunities that we all take for granted by providing much needed equipment, care and support for them. Please sponsor me so I can help to make a real difference to this family and make the next ten years the best ten years of Nye and Laurie’s lives!
