Story
Christmas is a time for love and warmth and for many of us, also a time for celebration with our loved ones. For those people who are unwell over Christmas and have to remain in hospital, they can miss out on these things and this can be particularly difficult for them to understand, especially if they are a child. This year there will be countless children who will be away from their home and comforts and will spend their Christmas day in hospital.
In order to try and create a little more festive cheer for these children and their families I would like to raise some money so I can purchase gifts , toys and activities for the Neptune Ward at Southend Hospital.
In order to do this I have decided to do a Christmas themed event in order to raise money for the provision of gifts to the Neptune Ward. This will entail a 25mile pull beginning in Shoebury through to Leigh-On-Sea and Southend and back to Shoebury. In keeping with the festive theme I will be pulling a 25 stone “sleigh” with a variety of different Father Christmas dressed volunteers, whilst I myself will be dressed as Rudolph.
If anyone would kindly like to donate to this cause it would be very much appreciated and any small amount really does help to make a difference.
