Our wonderful friend, Heather Ritchie, has been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. Having not been offered conventional treatment in the UK she is going to Spain to spend three weeks at the renowned Budwig Cancer Clinic. For all of those that know and love Heather and whose lives she has touched and inspired, we thought you may like to contribute to the costs of treatment. Three weeks at the Budwig are costing £15,000, we’d like to raise money to contribute to that sum and to help pay for extra holistic treatments to make this experience as healing as possible. Heather has touched and inspired many people in the rug making community, particularly through her project Rug Aid in The Gambia which helps the blind and partially sighted to become self sufficient. The project was inspired by her own experience throughout her childhood, assisting her father who was blind. As an adult, Heather’s talent for colour and design has inspired many rug artists.
