A year ago I sadly watched as my grandfather passed away after battling the affects of a stroke for a number of years. He was a great man by the name of Brendan Duddy also known as the mountain climber, the secret peace maker and to our family as “dit daddy”.

Throughout his whole life he strived to make peace , playing a privotal role in the troubles.

He taught me many things and one of those things was to make the best out of what other people might see as a bad situation. So to honour this I’d like to celebrate his life and the peace we have today by raising money for people in other conflict areas.

I am organising a charity mountain climb on the Sunday the 10th of June (his birthday) at Mount Errigal, Co Donegal.
