Story

Following the success of the initial fundraising; I have been approached by 2 more orphanages who need Portable power stations. Therefore I am starting to fundraise again.

The first event in 2025 will be a Race Night...8th March 7pm, Estcots School

I'm raising £5,000 to purchase portable power stations to send to Ukraine. I was moved hearing the plight of civilians living in Ukraine as described by Ukrainian refugees who have settled in my town. When they visit family who are still in Ukraine, they describe the frequent air-raid sirens and power cuts which are now part of daily life due to Russian forces targeting infrastructure. They are very concerned as winter approaches. The children do their schooling often in underground shelters, which, when the power goes are plunged into darkness. The hospitals are also subjected to power cuts at any time....

The first orphanage to be helped was the Hippocrates Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Centre in Kharkiv. They received 2 Portable power stations and 2 Oxygen concentrators:

THE SECOND ORPHANAGE IS IN BOLGRAD

The Bolgrad specialized school is located in the south of Odessa region, was founded in 1945

There are currently 95 children with hearing and speech impairments studying at the school

They have received a custom made gas stove.

The Vinnytsia orphanage received power stations :

Kymytov have also just received their power station which powers school equipment.

The next orphanage to receive help is Orphanage No 3 in Odessa.

The latest fundraising event was a race night:

Well, the fundraising Race Night yesterday evening was a great success and we raised just over £2000 to buy portable power supplies for orphanages in Ukraine. Special thanks go to my team of helpers plus the local businesses who gave raffle prizes by way of vouchers: Middle Row Cafe, The Dorset Arms, The Ship Inn, The Old Dunnings Mill, The Mug Tree Cafe, Ashdown Flowers and Chequer Mead. Race Sponsors included Coles Estate Agents and Secret Circle Racing from Shovelstrode; who also bought jockey silks to decorate the room. The Market Square donated wine prizes. I am most indebted to Simon from Miles Audio Visual who provided and operated his AV equipment for me. I was also sent donations from people unable to attend.

I will be organising fund-raising events...:
