Last year on 2nd July 2017, a normal Sunday for Chris, a mountain bike ride with the lads, changed his life forever, Chris went over the handle bars of his bike, the resulting accident left him with a severely damaged spinal cord. Chris was in ICU for over a week and his family were unsure if he would survive. Chris's determination for life and his huge strength pulled him through. The realisation of his serious injury hit him hard mentally. The love of his family and support network around him started to prepare him for the path ahead. This next step will be a long, physical and mental challenge. Chris is paralysed from the neck down. He is now in the Specialist Spinal Facility in Sheffield. His journey has not been easy to say the least. Chris is now a tetraplegic which means he will no longer have movement from his neck down and he will have to remain on ventilator due to damage to his left lung, this will not hold him back however. His mission is to get home to his wife Yvonne of 25 yrs and daughters Rachel & Katie, not forgetting his best friend Diesel the doberman! The courage and determination Chris is showing will pull him through along with the love of his family.

I am determined as a long term friend of Chris to help him as much as possible. To this end I intend to raise money to assist Chris in his rehabilitation.

Chris is an AMAZING bloke...! always wanting to help others, a FANTASTIC husband and father, a TRUE friend...... he is a guy who would think of others before himself. PLEASE HELP ME raise funds to enable the purchase of a specialised made to measure electric wheelchair to enhance Chris 's mobility. and independence.

I, with a little bit of help from my husband Dave, will be heading to Los Angeles for a bicycle ride across the United States finishing on the Florida Coast. 3,000 + miles. This will be self supported.... completely. We hope to do this in 60 days. We leave at the end of Feb.

i am hoping to raise as much money as I can to help the funds that Rachel & Katie Evans and their team of friends who also have a page on Just Giving, to raise funds for a specialised made to measure wheelchair and other aids which they need to help with the transition to bringing Chris home and to help him with independence for the next chapter ahead...
