    Story

For those of you don’t know her, this is Allison Kelly. Allison is a cracking archer and a friend.

Allison lives in Prudhoe , Northumberland with her partner of 27 years, Alan (58). Her beautiful 17 year old daughter Sophie will be 18 in August.

For those of you who don’t know, Allison has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. It isn’t the first time that the big C has impacted her life. Allison first suffered with it when she was 29.

Her dad died at 45 with Cancer of the pancreas. Her elder sister Lynne passed at 47 with Breast cancer. Her little sister Lucy died too, at 49 with breast cancer. Last year her half sister who is 30 was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer.

At a time when when everything in her world has been turned upside down, please can you help me to make Allison’s remaining time with her family more comfortable?

I have approached Allison to ask how her final days could be made better. She was very modest but I eventually got her to say that she’d love to have someone build a wardrobe in her bedroom and have someone paint all the walls.

Alan & Sophie have got most of the back garden cleared and plan to make it a nice lawn with some fencing, for Allison so sit out in, during those fine days. Allison feels it would make a huge difference to their time together. Anything to help finish the garden would also be brilliant.

Update 5a of 5 This week The Sliding Wardrobe Company fitted wall to wall mirrored door wardrobes. There is still some other work to do In there before the flooring can go down. I’m thrilled to bits so far. I feel totally spoiled and cared for by everyone. I won’t pretend it’s been easy over the last 5 months. It’s been the toughest time of my life. Some of the tests and procedures that have to be done are awful. It’s nice not to have to face any just now. I still smile everyday and I’m grateful for this time I have. Much love to everyone xx

Update 4 of 5... for me was the living room. I spend a lot of time there and it’s also where I sleep. (I have a hospital bed there). The walls have been painted along with the staircase. New laminate and a stair carpet has also been fitted. The settee arrived mid October. This week The Sliding Wardrobe Company fitted wall to wall mirrored door wardrobes. There is still some other work to do In there before the flooring can go down. I’m thrilled to bits so far. I feel totally spoiled and cared for by everyone.

... UPDATE 3 of 5 Hopefully the drug continues to work and I continue to tolerate the side effects. They will build over time. Occasionally I get a day of energy, it then takes a lot of days to recover. I’ve come a long way in a short time. A month ago I was in a wheelchair when outside. Now I can walk myself it feels incredible 😀😀 The money you all generously gave has been put to great use. First the garden had a full revamp. I’ve spent many happy hours sat out there. I then decided the next important thing.... (continued..)
